Ever wonder what's inside the D-Link DGS-2205 switch? Need to get inside?
Note: Opening the box may void the manufacturer's warantee.
Outside the Box

Flipping the switch on its back, it looks like a standard electronics box, with the usual mounting slots and four feet. For our purposes of opening the box, we want to concentrate on the two rear feet, which hide screws.
Screws Revealed

I was able to peel off the two rear feet by hand. Don't bother with the front two feet, as they just have plastic under them.
What's Inside
Use a philips-head screwdriver to remove the screws. Then, flip the switch back on its belly and remove the top. Note that the silver band easily slides on and off. The circuitboard can also be removed by removing the two screws near the front.
